I wish I was this cute. ^^
<-- my favorite. -shrugs-
<--WHO DOESN'T WISH THEY LOOKED LIKE THAT.
Yulia [[Julia]]
Lena [[Elena]]
Both from the band, t.A.T.u, which they say stands for "love freedom" and pronounced "tattoo". I've also read somewhere along the line that it means "this that", but I can't say that's exactly correct, because according to their Youtube profile, it means the prior.
They have a twisted and strange story, Yulia and Lena.
They're past producer, Ian something or another, forced them [[actually, had them sign a contract that practically said they couldn't even speak unless he gave the okay]] to put on a show of lesbian behavior. As young girls at ages 15 and 16, they seemed to have a blurred sense of reality and their show. They genuinely thought, after a while, that the feelings were real, or at least that's my understanding of it. They thought they were in love, like any teenage couple.
Giving us All_The_Things_She_Said. It's their first hit single in Russia, and when it traveled to England, this is what they created. [[I don't think I'll add the Russian version, mainly because I don't understand it.]]
The story line is about one school girl who falls in love with another. It's a song about confussion and surprising emotion. The video is beautiful, and if you're a "hater" against the gays, I can understand if you don't want to click the link or stop reading. [[though it would make me sad]]
Their plain emotion capture audiences and they soon came up with a follow up to prove themselves worthy of the top. Not_Gonna_Get_Us or the English cover of "Nos Ne Dogonyat".
They rose on the charts and continued on being fabulous.
I don't really know what happened after that, considering the fact all the sites I click never have a full bio. All I know is Yulia got preggers and they seperated from the Psycho Manager. Lena also got hot while Yulia went from cute to fake tanned and a mommykins.
For whatever reason, they kept their lesbian act for the band, calling it an "image" they felt they needed to keep. They're beautiful girls with wonderful talent. I adore them, especially 30_Minutes or the English cover of "30 Minut".
The story line is touching and heartbreaking, while the video is daring and fresh. I always love the originals, even if it isn't, it is to me. :P
Glorious band, and I seriously hope that they each take on their solo careers, but come back to t.A.T.u.
